How To Determine If The Hydraulic Pump Is Compatible

Jul 24, 2026

Judging whether the hydraulic pump is compatible can be comprehensively verified from three dimensions: core parameters, operating status, and adaptability. The specific methods are as follows:

1, Core parameter matching verification
Pressure matching: The rated pressure of the pump should be ≥ 1.1-1.25 times the actual working pressure of the system. It is recommended to control the daily operating pressure within 80% of the rated pressure to avoid long-term full load operation.

Flow matching: The output flow rate of the pump should be ≥ the total flow rate of all simultaneously operated components, with a margin of 5% to 10% reserved to offset pipeline leakage and prevent action jamming.

Speed matching: The actual speed of the driving motor must fall within the rated speed range indicated on the hydraulic pump nameplate to avoid early wear of the pump body caused by overspeed operation.

Power matching: Calculate the required input power of the pump according to the formula P=(Q × P)/(600 × η), ensure that the power of the prime mover is greater than the calculated value, and prevent overload tripping.

2, Verification and judgment of operating status
Measure the working pressure of the system under maximum load. If the pressure remains close to the rated value of the pump for a long time, it indicates insufficient matching margin; If the pressure is lower than 50% of the rated value, there is an energy waste problem of "big horse pulling small car".

Observe whether there are abnormal heating, sharp whistling, insufficient flow and other phenomena during the operation of the pump, which are mostly caused by parameter mismatch.

3, System compatibility verification
The type of pump needs to be adapted to the working conditions: gear pump is selected for low-pressure general scenarios, blade pump is selected for medium pressure silent scenarios, and plunger pump is selected for high-pressure heavy-duty scenarios.

Check the interface size, installation form, and compatibility with the system pipeline, and ensure that the oil medium matches the sealing material of the pump to avoid installation interference or sealing corrosion issues.
