How To Determine Whether The Hydraulic Pump Matches The Application Conditions

Jul 27, 2026

To determine whether the hydraulic pump is suitable for the application conditions, system verification can be carried out from the following dimensions:

1, Matching verification between core parameters and operating requirements

Pressure adaptation: The rated pressure of the pump should be ≥ 1.25 times the actual continuous working pressure of the system, and the short-term peak pressure should not exceed the allowable peak upper limit of the pump to avoid long-term high load operation.

Flow adaptation: The actual output flow of the pump needs to meet the operating speed requirements of the executing components, while reserving a leakage margin of 5% to 10% to prevent operation lag and insufficient efficiency.

Speed adaptation: The actual speed of the drive motor must fall within the rated speed range of the pump to avoid insufficient oil suction due to low speed and cavitation wear due to high speed.

2, Exclusive adaptation verification for working conditions and scenarios

Common medium and low pressure scenarios: Gear pumps need to verify their anti pollution ability, oil temperature control performance, and adapt to low maintenance requirements.

Medium pressure precision scenario: Blade pumps need to verify operating noise and flow uniformity to meet high stability requirements.

High pressure heavy load scenario: The plunger pump needs to verify its impact resistance, self-priming performance, and adapt to harsh working conditions such as construction machinery and mining.

3, Long term operational status verification

After continuous full load operation for 2 hours, the oil temperature should be controlled within 60 ℃, without abnormal noise or vibration, and the system should have no obvious internal leakage.

Matching the precision of oil filtration, tank capacity, heat dissipation capacity, and pump type, there is no early wear or significant reduction in lifespan.
